New watch, additional functionality

Trying out an email update today.
Got the dressier version of the Metawatch.

Doesn't match the race bike, but looks better at work.

Predictive feature is being "field" tested.  Number to the right is indicating that I might go over 180 in 33 minutes.  I'm taking the slope of the last 15 minutes and extrapolating out to where I'll be over 180 or under 80.  Also, I'm taking 20 minutes off of the estimate to account for the delay. Higher values indicate steady blood sugar.  Greater than 99 minutes, I don't show anything.

  1. I have been following your blog for a while and you have inspired me tremendously! I'm going to create a similar setup with the added feature of broadcasting my son's CGM data, long distance, to my watch. Thank you very much for sharing your work and for inspiring others.

  2. Interesting. Was looking into this myself.

Out of curiosity, have you evaluated the Pebble? And do we think there's Bluetooth hidden somewhere inside the Dexcom receiver?

    1. I've tried the pebble. It will attempt a connect with the Bluesmirf Gold, but then expects some kind of handshake. The watch will buzz then the arduino side reports the connection was dropped. I have a bleduino on order, that I hope will work.

No, I don't think the Dexcom has bluetooth. It uses SimpliciTI, same Frequencies but different protocol. Bluetooth may have been too soon to market when the G4 was developed, also, SimpliciTI is more similiar to BLE.

    2. More detail on the pebble, the watch will Buzz, asking you to confirm the connection on the app side, which in this case is the arduino/Bluesmirf. Then it disconnects.
